INTEGRITY SAFETY CONNECTION RIGOUR
These thoughtfully chosen values distinguish C.O.R.E Cycling® from other indoor cycling certification programs. Anchored in these values, our certification program delivers the knowledge and skill to inspire an average instructor to become an extraordinary indoor cycling coach capable of bringing out the highest potential, in themselves and others.
Integrity
The instruction offered in a C.O.R.E Cycling® certification program is based on authentic outdoor cycling fundamentals. This also
distinguishes our program from others. Although the indoor cycling ‘spinning® bicycle’ was originally created as a complement to outdoor cycling,
unfortunately, the activity has become nothing more than "aerobics on a bike". C.O.R.E Cycling® restores the integrity
of the indoor cycling workout by tying it back to outdoor cycling and the solid best practices that have served the sport throughout its long and
respected history. The benefits of coaching an indoor cycling class in this way provides participants with a cross-pollination of
practical skills that they can either take outdoors or have serve as part of a well-rounded cross-training regime that enhances
overall fitness in other areas of sport, profession or life.
Safety
Our program offers an extremely thorough approach to safety with consideration given to both short-term and long-term effects of
proper bike set-up,
pedal mechanics and form. We mitigate injury by graduating highly knowledgeable and fully prepared instructors who demonstrate
their commitment to
proper cycling fundamentals by never engaging in dangerous ‘fad’ moves.

Connection
The C.O.R.E® philosophy is based on people – the belief that there is nothing more powerful than human connection. This is true for the
community of instructors as well as the connection with participants in an indoor cycling class. Just as an instructor builds a
relationship with her class, graduates of the C.O.R.E Cycling® certification program will have a permanent connection with each other and their
master trainer. And a further distinction of our program is the back-end support given through continuing education and connections
to employment opportunities.
Rigour
The C.O.R.E Cycling® certification program is not for everyone – this also makes our program different. Much is expected from our
potential instructors as we believe much will be given to them. A C.O.R.E Cycling® certification is not automatically given – it
is earned. We believe so strongly in the soundness of our program that we will issue a refund if it is determined that there is an
incompatible fit between C.O.R.E Cycling® and a potential instructor.

HISTORY OF INDOOR CYCLING
‘The spirit of spinning was born in South Africa when a dispirited four-and-a-half-year-old kid named Jonathan Goldberg climbed onto his first bicycle, pointed it toward the beach and started pedaling....’
“...I marvel constantly at how this tiny nucleus grew into Spinning®...the thrill, the energy, the power and the sensuality that fill a room when I lead a training on my Johnny G Spinner® fills me with joy. With headphones and microphone in place, I face a group of beautiful, eager cyclists, all of us Spinning our legs to the music, dropping sweat...and facing ourselves.” - Johnny Goldberg
Excerpt from “Romancing the Bicycle - The Five Spokes of Balance” - Andrea Cagan
By 1995 Johnny Goldberg had taken on partner John Baudhuin and Mad Dogg Athletics was born. Mad Dogg licensed both the "Johnny G Spinner®" as well as the entire "Spinning®" program.
